Ola Electric Scooters have been received within 24 hours of opening the order books, according to Ola Electric. On 15 July, the company opened reservations for its ola electric scooters at Rs 499, a fully refundable amount. Many potential buyers attempted to reserve the scooter because of the low booking amount, temporarily clogging the online booking portal of Ola Electric.

What we know so far about the Ola Electric scooter: Specifications, variants, and charging

It is expected that the Ola electric scooter will be available in three versions – Ola Series S, Ola S1 and Ola S1 Pro. Matte black, matte pink, matte sky blue, among others, are expected to be available. The Ola e-scooter will offer customers the choice of color and variant at a later stage. Ola Electric has also revealed that the scooter can be charged using a standard 5A socket, or at one of their ‘Hypercharger’ charging stations, which are now live in over 100 cities and will eventually cover over 400.

In the past, Ola Electric has claimed that its electric scooter will have class-leading acceleration. It’s unclear at this time which scooters Ola considers to be its rivals, but for perspective, the Ather 450X – which is currently the quickest-accelerating e-scooter on sale in India – does 0-40 kph in 3.3 seconds and 0-60 kph in 6.5 seconds. The lower-spec Ather 450 Plus, on the other hand, can do 0-40 kph in 3.9 seconds and 0-60 kph in 8.29 seconds.

Additionally, Ola electric scooters claim to have the largest under-seat storage in their category, which can accommodate two half-face helmets. Ola’s electric scooter is certified to cover at least 100 kilometers per charge.

Ola Electric Scooter

Ola electric scooters have 12-inch black alloy wheels. With a clean, straightforward appearance, its design stays away from dramatic flourishes and complex surfacing. The twin-LED headlight is encircled by a DRL ring, and the apron has slim turn indicators. Ola’s scooter features a single-sided telescopic front suspension and a horizontally mounted rear shock absorber, as well as slotted front and rear disc brakes. The pillion foot pegs fold flush into the scooter’s bodywork, and at the back, the Ola electric scooter gets a chunky pillion grab handle and a clear-lens tail-light.

In addition to the Android operating system, Ola’s electric scooter will likely have a 7.0-inch TFT colour display, in-built navigation, onboard diagnostics, and other infotainment features.
